Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights together with Geneva for Human Rights co-hosted an NGO Forum on July 29, 2004 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, to discuss methods for improving the Sub-Commission's deliberations under item 2 of its agenda. Item 2 is the core agenda item where NGOs traditionally speak about particular country situations -- the so-called "name and shame" item.
We had a good turnout for the NGO Forum and many good ideas.

A followup forum was held on 12 August 2004, the day before the final vote on the draft resolution on item 2. A wrapup and analysis of next year's activities will be posted at our 2005 site before the 2005 session convenes.
